Daily Habits - Constant Training

One of the most important attributes to any good leader is the ability to perform everything the leader preaches. While not necessary, the times when that leader can perform to a better level than the people he or she is leading, helps a lot with motivation.

This is especially true when that leader is a bit older than the people underneath him or her.

This is one of the many benefits of constant (ideally daily) training. The leader, having more time in the training, would have the benefit of higher and more refined skills.

Constant training helps keep baseline skill from eroding away. These baseline skills are not only hugely beneficial to an instructor teaching new practitioners but also keeps the leader from eroding from the basics that helped the leader get to where he or she is.

Constant training helps a healthy body stay healthy. The regular and constant movement of the limbs keeps everything loose and strong, and aids in early identification of physical issues that may be occurring.

Constant training helps with positive attitude at large challenges. Completion of regular exercise sends endorphins to the brain and develops a more positive “can do” attitude that is enormously helpful.

Constant training helps deal with any anxiety that the practitioner may have. This “you time” is the best way to help solve aggravating issues or come up with a strategy to help deal with a challenge later that day. Moreover, constant training helps develop a routine which is extremely useful if a challenging situation comes up. A person with this routine will be in the mindset – if an issue arises – that there will be a constructive time for that person to deal with that issue. This is extremely helpful in helping keep the practitioner calm.

Constant training is the best way to make sure you are prepared if a self-defense situation arises. Constant practice and awareness of the practitioner’s physical condition is the best way to prepare for an effective defense strategy. Additionally, constant practice will increase the skills needed for those defense methods.
