Personality Test
Hey guys,
A new challenge for this week:
I’d like each of you to take this 16Personalities test, and we’ll discuss the results during our instructor meeting on today (Tuesday).
While this is hardly the “end-all-be-all” when it comes to psychological profiling, I have found that personality tests like this help develop my own understanding of how different personality types behave in certain circumstances.
If you were to a work with a student with not-so-great upper body strength, you know repetitive pushups are going to be very draining, yes? How about the number of times you call a person out during class? Whether it is postiive or negative, for some people that is amazingly draining and for others it is a breath of fresh air!
People differ in how they may think, communicate, react under stress, and process information. Understanding those differences can help us become more effective instructors, better communicators, and more patient with both our students and each other.
Sometimes what looks like stubbornness, hesitation, overthinking, or even disinterest is simply someone processing information differently than we do. The more aware we are of that, the better we can teach and lead.
I have taken this test multiple times and am usually an ENTJ, but this past time I am an INFJ-T
As an INFJ (Advocate), you possess a unique combination of idealism and insight that sets you apart in today’s world. Your rich inner life is characterized by complex emotions, vivid imagination, and a deep well of empathy that allows you to connect with others on a profound level. You have an unwavering commitment to your principles and an intense desire to make a positive impact on the world around you.
Your natural ability to understand and interpret the feelings and motivations of others is both a gift and a challenge. While it enables you to form deep, meaningful connections and offer invaluable support to those around you, it can also leave you feeling overwhelmed by the emotions and needs of others. You often find yourself torn between your desire to help and your need for privacy and solitude.
